Description:
These are ultracalcinated aluminum silicates surface-coated with different organosilanes (vinylic, 2115, 2115A, 2115D; aminosilane, 2115B; mercaptosilane, 2115C). The ITASIL 2115 and 2115A and 2115D products are suitable for reticulable elastomeric compounds with organic peroxides and ITASIL 2215C for vulcanization with sulfur. The ITASIL 2115B product interacts more strongly with polar elastomers, such as NBR, HNBR, CR, it is also indicated for NBR/PVC blends . The products coated with vinylic organosilane, that is, ITASIL 2115A and 2115B, are hydrophobic, while, ITASIL 2115C and –NH2 are polar and hydrophilic, due to the presence of - NH2 and SH surface groups, respectively. The surface-modified particulates covered with these organosilanes are good-fluidity powders in the solid state, providing easy dosage through gravity and dispersion. The products act as mechanical reinforcement, due to the formation of covalent connections between the covered particulates and the elastomer, during the vulcanization process through peroxide or sulfur. In addition, the electric properties remain stable during long periods in water, due to the presence of the hydrophobic particulates. Before the vulcanization process, the surface coatings provides the particles with greater lubrication and fluidity of the compound.
Function: Dielectric blend for electric wires and cables; water repellent blend; mechanical reinforcement in compounds formulated for retread tires.
Application: EPDM, EPR, NR, SBR, NBR, HNBR and their vulcanizable blends. |
